Performing Arts BTEC Level 3

This is a vocational course for students interested in pursuing a career in the Performing Arts or for students that are interested in and enjoy performing and who wish to continue to develop their performing skills.

This programme emphasises acting, dance and musical theatre performance and can be taken in conjunction with A level subjects or GCSE re-sits. The course involves detailed study of every aspect of performing. Students must demonstrate a high standard of academic, practical performance and theoretical skills.

Group Performance Workshops & Developing skills for live performance; will help you to explore the process of making performance and to try outperformance ideas in a practical workshop situation to then focus on the realisation of rehearsed performance work to a live audience.

You will also investigate practitioners’ work, looking at the context of Performance, you will gain a knowledge of the historical, social, political, economic, technical and cultural contexts of the performing arts and gain experience of the major business elements of the performing arts.

This course combines practical and theatrical elements to develop your passion and enjoyment of drama and theatre through experience and performance. Your study programme will be a diverse learning experience filled with enriching activities, workshops and live theatre visits, that will help to develop your confidence, teambuilding, communication and many other skills.

+Progression

Students may progress to Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies and Performing Arts related university courses, audition for professional vocational training or audition for professional work. Past students have entered the professions of performers; education; media; community arts; events management; and other related careers.
