AVC students Race For Life

Students from Avon Valley College, part of Salisbury Plain Academies, raised £857 recently in their Race for Life event.

All the pupils who took part donated £2 and some were also sponsored. One student, Steve Lamb, raised £310 in sponsorship in memory of her mum.

The course was 500m long and the students from Years 7,8,9 and 10, completed it ten times. The course consisted of hurdles, ladders, agility poles, balance beams, space hoppers, cargo net and a bouncy castle.

“The students all completed the course and received a medal,” said AVC PE teacher, Collette Harries. “They all wore a note which they had written explaining why they were running.”
