A-Levels: 2016 results

Great news for Avon Valley College students

6th Form students at Avon Valley College (AV6), Durrington are celebrating after collecting their results.

The academy has seen a 99% per cent pass rate across all A-Levels and their equivalent qualifications, an increase of 8 percentage points on last year’s results (91%).

31 per cent of AVC students were awarded equivalence of either A*s or A grades and, 41 per cent A* to B.

Tim Webber, principal of Avon Valley College, said: "Congratulations to our students, and our staff – an enormous amount of hard work goes into these qualifications and I am delighted with these results.”

Students and their families and friends gathered at the school, now part of Salisbury Plain Academies from 10am, some ripping open their envelopes in great haste, others taking their time as they conquered their nerves.

80 per cent of AVC 6th Form students have been offered a place at their first choice university.
