Welcome from the Head of 6th Form, AV6.
Avon Valley College has been developed specifically to meet the needs of our students. We are a small and caring sixth form with an excellent reputation for the quality of our pastoral care and we will support you fully as you begin to take responsibility for your own learning and make choices about your chosen career path.
As Head of Sixth Form it is my priority to ensure you are matched with the best possible courses for your chosen career and receive the personal advice and guidance you need to feel secure and be successful. My aim is for you to enjoy your time with us, develop real skills and gain the experience needed to enter the worlds of work or to continue further in education.
Our teaching standards are high and we will expect you to work hard to achieve your goals. As well as academic development we will help you develop independence and responsibility as you become part of our caring community. We encourage community service, work experience and involvement in social activities. I am immensely proud of our Sixth Form and the dedicated team that offer day-to-day commitment to all students and hope you will want to find out more about what we can offer to you.
Sue Lucas, Head of AV6
