Maths GCSE Level 2

We have the course for you if you have yet to get that grade 4 in Maths GCSE. Achieving at least a C or grade 4 in GCSE Maths is a requirement of post-sixteen education. Some students will study GCSE Maths alongside a level 3 programme, others will take the GCSE as part of their single year of level 2 study.

+ Course details and future career paths

You will follow a one year course covering all aspects of the syllabus with three written exams in May/June. If you have just failed to achieve a grade 4, there may be an opportunity to re-sit the exams in November.

The three examinations are as follows:

Paper 1: A non-calculator paper testing all aspects of the syllabus, lasting 1 hour 30 minutes.

Paper 2: A calculator paper testing all aspects of the syllabus, lasting 1 hour 30 minutes.

Paper 3: A calculator paper testing all aspects of the syllabus, lasting 1 hour 30 minutes.

+ Progression

You are expected to improve from a grade 3 to a grade 4. A grade 4 opens up numerous opportunities e.g. university / apprenticeships, that may otherwise be closed. You may go on to study Level 3 Core Maths or higher tier GCSE Maths.
