Business & Creative Marketing BTEC Level 3
The most important thing you need in order to take the BTEC Level 3 in Business is a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in business, a willingness to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively. You do not need to have studied Business prior to starting the course.
This is a vocational course that is recognised by industry and universities and is made up coursework and examined units.

This qualification puts emphasis on real world business rather than being limited to theory. You will prepare for the workplace by developing marketing and entrepreneurial skills. The course consists of both mandatory and optional units, including:

- Personal and business finance
- Managing an event
- Market research
- Visual merchandising
- International business
- Digital marketing
- Pitching for a new business
The assessment for this course is a combination of a practical internally set and assessed assignment and an externally set assignment. Evidence for assessment may be generated through a range of diverse activities including assignment and project work, case studies, role play and oral presentation.
Many students will continue their education at university studying business, marketing, management or finance. Others continue their education through apprenticeships with local employers. The subject combines well with other subjects within the department, Accounting and Law, hence our students may continue in these fields too.
